Nissan Forklifts
Walkie/Ridie Pallet Trucks - It's got a pretty lame name, but this series of forklifts by Nissan is actually pretty useful, especially if you have loads that are too big for a person to carry but they don't need to be moved that far or that fast. Basically, this is a forklift without the "car" part of it - it has a lift, and it is run by machine, but it can be pushed around by a person or ridden by standing on it. It's essentially just the platform and lift part of the nissan forklift. There are a couple of different models, and the capacity ranges from between 6,000 and 8,000 pounds. That's actually at the upper limit of many forklifts, so this design isn't lacking in power. It is, however, pretty slow - about a third of the speed of a normal forklift. So you'll mainly want to look into this for jobs where you are moving things around inside the same warehouse - because it doesn't have the speed, it's not as good if you are having to move things back and forth across a large lot. The length of the fork is 48 inches, so you can still carry a decent sized load.
Nomad Series - The Nomad series is the "middle" range of Nissan Forklifts. There are only a couple of models in this series, and they tend to be at the lower end in terms of weight capacity. There is a 3,000; a 3,500; and a 5,000 pound model. You can get up to 8,000 with the Platinum series, so if you're going to have heavier loads you might go with that. But because these are a little smaller, sometimes they have better maneuverability. They can go a lot faster than the pallet trucks - a little under 11 miles per hour. That's about the same as most of the platinum ones.
Nissan Forklifts - Platinum Series - This series is Nissan's biggest and broadest. It has a lot of benefits you'll want to check out - you can get a number of different models, ranging from smaller ones with less loading capacity up to some with 8,000 pounds of capacity. You can pretty much get anything you want because of the product variations, but there are a number of features you should check out here. First, the engine efficiency is often better - these Nissan forklifts use the K21 and K25 engines, which are pretty good about fuel efficiency. Nissan says they're about 26% more fuel efficient than earlier models - that can make a big difference. The initial price of the forklift isn't the only thing to think about - with gas prices these days, you might actually save more by going ahead and buying a better model that will waste less gas, especially if you're going to be using it a lot.
